The Jewish Book Council announced its 2011 Jewish Book Awards on Tuesday, honoring “Jerusalem: A Biography” by Simon Sebag Montefiore with the group’s Jewish Book of the Year award.

Pulitzer Prize winning author and illustrator Art Spiegelman won the Biography, Autobiography and Memoir Award for “MetaMaus: A Look Inside a Modern Classic, Maus.”

The top prize for fiction went to “Until the Dawn’s Light” by Aharon Appelfeld (Jeffrey M. Green, trans.).

The top prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature went to “Deadly,” by Julie Chibbaro.
