David Beckham gives Insta account, 72 million followers to Ukrainian doctor

Retired Jewish, British soccer star David Beckham is doing his part to help inform the world of the plight of the Ukrainian people suffering under the Russian invasion, according to a report by Jewish Business News. Beckham has turned over his own Instagram account and his nearly 72 million followers to a doctor who is the director of the Regional Perinatal Center in Kharkiv.

Kharkiv is located near Ukraine’s border with Russia and suffered mightily from Russia’s military bombardments of the city.

The doctor who now has his Instagram is known only as Irina.

David Beckham said in an Instagram video, “Today I’m handing over my social channels to Iryna, the Head of the Regional Perinatal Centre in Kharkiv, Ukraine where she is helping mothers give birth. The 46 year old David Beckham’s maternal grandfather was Jewish, and he superstar has said, that he thinks of himself as Jewish.
