Coffee Talk with SnL to feature our contributor Harley Hammerman

Every Monday and Tuesday, the Jewish Light publishes the remarkable stories of the St. Louis closed but not forgotten restaurants, and some of the dishes they made that became legendary. These stories are published in partnership with St. Louisan Dr. Harley Hammerman, who has singlehandedly kept these stories and recipes alive on his two companion websites Lost Tables and Lost Dishes.

Now, Hammerman, the “lost”  restaurant and recipe enthusiast, along with chef Scott Phillips, will be the special guests on the popular virtual monthly coffee talks hosted by NCJWSTL’s Past President, Susan Katzman, and Vice President of Membership, Lisa Gubernik.

They will be sipping their favorite morning beverage and enjoying each other’s company while discussing light topics.

Phillips, the former executive chef at Provisions Gourmet Market and Balaban’s in Chesterfield began working together when Phillips enlisted Hammerman to help him with a Lost Dishes cooking demonstration at the Working Women’s Survival Show at the St. Charles Convention Center in 2019 and 2020. The two came together again, when Hammerman’s wife Marlene enlisted Phillips to surprised him with a Lost Dishes 70th birthday party.

“We’re using the birthday party as a platform to talk about the “lost dishes” he prepared for that dinner and the restaurants they came from,” said Hammerman.

This is a Coffee Talk not to be missed!
