Chabad will offer a new six-session course from the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), titled “Communication: Its Art & Soul,” at two locations in the St. Louis area, that will contrast Jewish thought with scientific discovery to unearth the essence of communication and how to utilize its power to better ourselves, our relationships and society. 

The six-session course will meet on six Tuesday evenings, beginning Jan. 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Morris & Ann Lazaroff Chabad Center, 8124 Delmar Blvd. in University City. In Chesterfield, the sessions will meet on six Thursday evenings, beginning Jan. 18, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., at Pepose Vision Institute, 1815 Clarkson Road in Chesterfield.

“Our almost constant interactions with devices is clearly affecting our relationships,” said Rabbi Yosef Landa, who will present the University City course, “and this is what drove us to offer this important course.” Rabbi Avi Rubenfeld will lead the series at the Chesterfield location. 

Medical and mental health professionals, including social workers and family therapists, can earn continuing education credits for attending.

The courses are open to the public, and attendees need not be affiliated with a synagogue to attend. The course is designed to appeal to people at all levels of knowledge, including those without any prior experience or background in Jewish learning.
